Mother's day 2011

Mother's Day

Yeah, finally back onto blogging about recently done stuff in the month of May. Okay, maybe not recently but a couple of weeks back! But really, I owe all my readers a big apology for the delay, been really busy organising some event and of cause the June holiday swimming classes!!! Big headache, nevertheless, here it goes... Starting from Mother's day!!!

Well, it's been donkey years since I remembered actually making a card for my mom, regardless if it was her birthday or mother's day. Probably back to the days when I was still using windows 95? LOL... So off I made my way, to the art shop and collection of chocolates which I ordered a couple of weeks prior to mother's day itself!!!

**YES I even pose while I take the escalator... stupid I know...**

This is how my card started, everything was hand drawn and hand pasted onto a blank piece of specially purchased hard, and glittery paper! (Heading being unskillfully designed)

Baby started her card this way too! It was both our ideas to hand make these cards. Although its like my first time such a sophisticated way, considering how last time I would just make a card using a template from powerpoint! :P

Half way through the cards, roughly 45mins into the design. Very plain and very simple... It's basically what a guy would do, unfortunately I was never the artistically creative minded person :(

Half way through at the other table... Looking so much more professional, the card standard is just too much of a contrast. Will show u the finish product just below!

Finally finished!!!

And a comparison of our two differently designed cards! Yes, I know... But never mind because I really had fun making the card! And rest assure, its not going to be my last design and it will get better every time!

**For those who are interested in the cost of making these cards, the raw materials cost us almost $75, excluding the chocolates! **

Just a side note to finish off this post... I just wanted to let the whole world know that I have the greatest mom in the world who has supported me all my life! I know I maybe a real ass some times, but you never fail to look out for me and I appreciate every thing you have done for me!

I love you mom!!!
